Biography:
David Winters was born June 6, 1958 in Birmingham, Ala. As a young man, he says he helped support his single mother and worked his way through school, eventually earning a degree in computer science from Troy State University in Troy, Ala.
After serving as a Special Operations officer in Germany during the U.S. campaign in Serbia, Winters settled in Auburn in 1998. He is a reserve command pilot in the U.S Air Force.
He owns two software and telecommunications companies in downtown Auburn.
Winters is married and has two children.
