Why should voters elect you? "I'm accessible to constituents, and I'll do the hard work to fight for federal workers, better schools, affordable health insurance, reliable energy and job creation."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction? "Our most urgent issue is developing a long-term strategy for economic security. Private-sector downsizing, the outsourcing of federal jobs, the loss of high-paying tech and service jobs to foreign countries and rising health care expenses are costs threatening the standards of living of middle-class families. We need to focus on 1) helping small business create new jobs for young people, women, displaced workers and ex-offenders; 2) providing affordable health insurance and a real prescription drug benefit; and 3) supporting public education so youth will be prepared for the new economy."
