In 1993, Coors was named chief executive of Coors Brewing Co. In 2002, he was named chairman of Adolph Coors Co. and Coors Brewing Co. A fourth-generation executive of the 127-year-old Colorado brewer, Peter Coors serves on the boards of several conservation groups and is a former national president of Ducks Unlimited.

He and his wife, Marilyn, have six children.

Past Campaigns:

Pete Coors has never held public office. He easily won his Aug. 10 primary against former congressman Bob Schaffer following a bitter campaign in which Schaffer supporters funded ads ridiculing Coors' support of a lower drinking age to better educate young people about alcohol. Coors retaliated, accusing Schaffer of padding his business experience on his resume.
