Biography:

Howard Mills was born in Middletown, N.Y., and lives in Hamptonburgh, N.Y. He received his bachelor's degree in 1986 from Marist College and a master's degree in government and public affairs in 1988 from The American University.

He was the director of development and an adjunct instructor of geography at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y., from 1990 to 1993. He served as councilman for the town of Wallkill from 1989 to 1995, and served as supervisor of the town from 1995 to 1998.

He has been a member of the New York state assembly since 1999.
