Biography:
Jock Scott was born in Alexandria, La., where he still lives. He received a bachelor's degree from Tulane University and law and PhD degrees from Louisiana State University.
Scott served in the Louisiana Legislature for 12 years, 1976-88, andsubsequently on the Louisiana Civil Service Commission. He was deeply involved in the effort to win four-year degree granting status for LSU-Alexandria.
Scott has been teaching history courses, primarily American History and Louisiana History, for LSU and LSU-Alexandria over the past nine years.
He and his wife, Cyndy, have three grown children.
