Robert Johnson is a chest surgeon at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.

He was born in New York City in 1950 and went to high school in Toms River, N.J.

He received a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University, a master's degree from Princeton University and a medical degree from Venderbilt University.

Johnson served on active duty in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1989 to 1991 and was honorably discharged as a lieutenant colonel.
