Biography:
Doris Kelly spent 34 years as an elementary school teacher, first in the Hyde Park School District and later in the Poughkeepsie School District.
She has also been a Democratic activist and a member of the New York State Democratic Committee, Dutchess County Democratic Committee, and secretary and vice chairman of the Hyde Park Democratic Committee.

In her only previous race, Doris Kelly won a two-year term on the Hyde Park Town Council. She defeated John Coleman in the 2004 Democratic primary for the 20th Congressional District.
