Biography:

Doris "Granny D" Haddock was born in Laconia, N.H., and lives in Dublin, N.H.

Widowed with two grown children, Haddock is a retired office manager.

A longtime political activist, she attracted attention in 1999 by walking across the country to promote campaign finance reform.

Haddock's political experience consists of three terms on the Dublin planning board.

In 2004, she legally changed her name from Ethel Doris Haddock to Doris Granny D Haddock.

"I'm Granny D," Haddock said in a statement. "I'm 94 and I want to make it official. I want the citizens of New Hampshire to be able to vote for Granny D _ this is how people know me."
