Biography:

Daniel Lipinski is on leave from the University of Tennessee, where he is an assistant professor of political science.

He grew up in the Chicago area and plans to move back permanently to run for the 3rd District congressional seat his father held for 22 years before deciding to retire in 2004.

He has served on the campaigns of various Chicago politicians, including those of his father and on Mayor Richard Daley's first re-election campaign. He spent several summers working for congressmen in Washington.

Lipinski is married. His wife, Judy, is an actuary.
