Why should voters elect you?
"A native Washingtonian, I've devoted my career to public education?as a teacher, tutor, and education policy adviser. I bring experience, vision? and endless energy!"

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"Candidates are famous for announcing programs, initiatives and innovations, but that's all talk. What matters most is providing all D.C. children with an excellent education in safe, well-functioning schools. Improving D.C.'s schools can be boiled down to four factors: a budget that is allocated thoughtfully, excellent teachers and principals, high expectations for all students, and facilities that are conducive to learning. My plan focuses on responsible management and accountability for results, including a data system that tracks expenditures. It's not sexy, but it is critical to reigning in spending, redirecting misplaced funds to classrooms, and restoring confidence in DCPS."
