"We have suffered a poorly managed and fiscally irresponsible D.C. public schools administration. Our teachers and principals are left operating with little training and almost no support for a very diverse school population (social, economic and ethnic). Despite research indicating the importance of smaller classrooms for improving instruction, our classroom size is on the increase. DCPS spends more per student/per meal, yet we serve our children the worst nutrition. We spend five times more on a security contract that fails to protect our children. Savings on these contracts may provide our teachers with the funding necessary for proper training and resources."
