Vincent C. Gray (D)
Age: 61
Residence: Hillcrest.
Education: BA, psychology, George Washington University; completed courses for MA, clinical psychology, George Washington University.
Occupation: Executive director, Covenant House Washington.
Office Sought: D.C. City Council Ward 7

Extra-curricular activities:
Chairperson, Ward 7 Democrats; member, Hillcrest Civic Association; member and committee chair, D.C. Democratic State Committee; vice chair, Far Southeast Family Strengthening Collaborative.

Why should voters elect you?
"As a native Washingtonian, my love for this city runs deep. I am committed to working to improve the quality of its residents' lives."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"Lack of leadership resulting in many other problems. Ward 7 and its residents deserve full-time attention, responsive leadership and excellent constituent services. Ward 7 needs a council member who will craft, advocate for and implement solutions to the difficult issues that affect the lives of its residents. Throughout my career, I have led and worked collaboratively with others to make available programs and services to improve life for D.C. residents. Lastly, a council member's office should always provide excellent customer service to its constituents. Sadly, that has not been the case in Ward 7. It is time for a change."
