The Boxster offers the best driving experience of this group. Low slung and powerful, it moves with purpose and without drama. Its styling is somewhat confused it lacks the roadster purity of the Z3 and the rounded-edge artistry of the TT, looking instead like slightly smushed, topless 911. Its interior is the most sports-car true of the group, with snug racing-inspired seats, a trio of matte-finish gauges, a short (and short-throw) six-speed shifter, all surrounded by a rollcage that shadows the shape of the seats. This car feels the most substantial of this group, and hence the most secure. It's also the most expensive, starting at around $41,000 and topping out over $50,000 (it's still the least expensive Porsche available in this country).
