Throughout his 60-year career, French artist Pierre Bonnard was never formally aligned with a mainstream art movement. In its retrospective "Pierre Bonnard: Early and Late," the Phillips Collection examines the prolific output of this master of color, from younger symbolist-influenced works to mature and more monumental neo-impressionist canvases. Also featured are Bonnard's ventures into alternative media, including decorative screens, prints, photography and sculpture.
