Interactive map of nearby black hole

The map below shows Galaxy M100 (Messier 100), a galaxy which is about 50 million lightyears away. It is part of the Virgo Cluster of Galleries and considered to be a relatively close neighbor. The black hole being observed is associated with SN 1979C, a supernova in the galaxy M100 discovered by an amateur astronomer in 1979. The L-shape seen below is a section of the galaxy zoomed in on for a higher resolution image.
