Clare's first love is her horses. She leases three of them at the stables in Rock Creek Park, where she also works teaching younger kids to ride. This is her first trip out of the country other than a brief visit to Puerto Rico.
June 26: "I'll miss my horses most. They won't understand why I haven't been there for two weeks."
June 30: "I thought I would cry the whole time we were in Richmond. But I didn't. We walked with tons of kids who were laughing and smiling and I realized they are happy in spite of their living conditions."
