Is the Air War Working?
April 19, 1999

Yugoslavia
In the past 25 days, NATO has flown about 6,000 air sorties, firing hundreds of precision-guided munitions at more than 100 targets across Yugoslavia. But far fewer aircraft have been committed to the Yugoslavia campaign than were to the 1991 Persian Gulf War, and the air war so far has failed to halt Yugoslav attacks in Kosovo. Some officials have said the air campaign may go on well into the summer.

This map locates targets cumulatively attacked by NATO planes from March 24 through April 15.
