Abu Ghraib /Fallujah military complex

The Presidential Palace complex at Abu Ghraib and the Fallujah I, II, and III chemical weapons factories combined to create a string of targets along the main highway running due west from Baghdad. The chemical factories produced key ingredients necessary for production of VX nerve gas at Al Muthanna. The military base and factories were bombed in 1991, and the chemical warfare equipment has been destroyed by UNSCOM inspectors. Even so, thousands of tons of dangerous chemicals remain missing, UNSCOM has reported.
