Al Jazirah Factory

This facility provided chemicals used in creation of U-235, the highly enriched uranium crucial to Iraq's atomic and radiological weapons programs. Heavily damaged by bombing during the 1991 war, Iraq later "unilaterally destroyed" much of the evidence at Al Jazirah, complicating arms inspectors' efforts to track the specialized processing machinery used for nuclear weapons production.

Iraqi opposition sources report that Al Jazirah also manufactured chemical weapons.
