Anne MacKinnon, 38, of Riverdale, is serving her second consecutive term on the Prince George’s County Council. She is a former member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing the 22nd Legislative District.

Councilmember MacKinnon is currently serving as the Chair of the County Council, and has served as Vice-Chair during the 1991 and 1992 Legislative years. She has also chaired the Legislative Committee for the Maryland Women Legislator’s Caucus, and has volunteered in numerous national, state and local campaigns for the Democratic Party since 1968.

Chairwoman MacKinnon serves on the Board of the Maryland Association of Counties, the Prince George’s Community Foundation, and the Mental Health Association. Other memberships include the Prince George’s County Ethics Task Force; Prince George’s County Growth Policy Task Force; CORE Service Agency Task Force; Executive Quality Council; and the Governor’s Interjurisdictional Coordination Committee. In addition, she was appointed by the Governor to the Hazardous Waste Facilities Siting Board in 1994.

Ms. MacKinnon graduated from Parkdale Senior High School and received her college degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. She was voted Outstanding Woman of the Year in 1983, and Prince George’s County Woman of Achievement in 1994.
