Current Board Members

  • Alice M. Rivlin, vice chairman of the Federal Reserve, is the incoming chairman of the board. The Post profiled Rivlin in 1993.

  • Constance B. Newman has agreed to serve a second term.

  • Robert P. Watkins III, a Washington lawyer with a civil rights background, joined the board for its second term.

  • Eugene Kinlow, who served on the D.C. Board of Education from 1979 to 1990 and is a member of the Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority, joined the board in the fall of 1998.

  • Darius Mans, an economist with the World Bank in Washington, joined the board along with Kinlow.

  • John Hill, executive director, is in charge of the control board's staff.


    Former Board Members

  • Andrew F. Brimmer, the first chairman of the board, said he would not stay for a second term. The Post profiled him in 1997.

  • Stephen D. Harlan, vice chairman, also announced that he will not serve a second term. Harlan participated in an online discussion on the "Levey Live" show.

  • Joyce A. Ladner served on the board during its first term. The Post profiled her in 1996.
