CHEERLEADING/POM PON
The camps encourage girls and boys, ages 7 to 14, to explore the fundamentals and techniques involved in cheerleading and pom-pon routines. The programs include proper warm-up exercises, dance formations, cheers, mounts, jumps and stunts. Members of the Department's All Star Cheerleading Team, which has won on the local and regional levels and has qualified to compete on the national level, will take part in instructing the camps. There is a $35 fee for each two-week session, which runs from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on weekdays at Savoy, Wheatley and Takoma recreation centers.

TENNIS
Learn basic fundamentals and/or sharpen skills at a tennis camp. Programs primarily focus on forehand and backhand strokes, grip and footwork, along with serving, volleying and scoring. Participants are required to bring their own racquet. The Department of Recreation and Parks is a part of the United States Tennis Association and American Tennis Association. We are supported in our efforts to provide top-notch tennis opportunities by the Friends of DRP Tennis Program, which includes the Washington Tennis Foundation, The Turkeys, Tennis at Shiloh, Mall Tennis, Totally Tennis, Ward 8 Tennis Council and Deanwood Tennis Patrons.
