Maryland School Performance Assessment Program Test Results

December 12, 1997

Maryland test scores released yesterday show that in most counties, more public school students have reached satisfactory scores on state assessment tests. But improvements have tapered off from previous years. The following index shows a composite of the percentage of students who met state standards in reading, writing, language usage, math, science and social studies. Washington-area counties have been highlighted. Data came from the Maryland State Department of Education.
