Rep. Albert R. Wynn, whose Maryland congressional district straddles Prince George's and Montgomery counties, yesterday kicked off his campaign for reelection with a rally at an Italian restaurant in Silver Spring.
Wynn, a Democrat who has represented the state's 4th Congressional District since 1993, said he will focus on three issues: stepping up support for public education, reforming managed health care by guaranteeing patients access to specialists, and funneling a greater slice of government contracts to businesses owned by minorities and women.
"As we downsize, we're going to need a new source of job creation, and I believe it will come from small businesses," Wynn said in an interview.
