State Senate District 15
Maryland’s 47 state senators comprise the upper house of the General Assembly, which meets for 90 days each year in Annapolis. Along with the lower house, the House of Delegates, the senators consider more than 2,000 bills in a session, and they review and approve the state budget submitted by the governor. They serve four-year terms.

"I will be a strong proactive leader at the General Assembly for District 15. I will build on my success as a County Council member to assure that District 15 sees more classrooms built so we can reduce class size, more transportation funds for road and intersection improvement and enhanced mass transit. I will continue my advocacy and successful efforts to protect our children from child abuse, work to curb underage drinking and curtail juvenile crime. I have been consistently responsive to my constituents on the council, and I will maintain that high level of service as your state senator."

"As a 30-year resident of the 15th District area and a civic leader for 20, I have fought side by side with our community."

Our citizens must receive the finest health care at a cost that they can afford, and the privacy of their medical records must be protected. I will continue to work for safety on our streets and in our neighborhoods and for transportation improvements in Montgomery County and Maryland."
