State Senate District 33
Maryland’s 47 state senators comprise the upper house of the General Assembly. They serve four-year terms. In this district, Sen. Robert R. Neall, one of the more influential Republican legislators, easily dismissed his challenger, retired infantry Col. William A. Scott. With no Democratic candidate, the primary amounted to a winner-take-all contest.
