State Senate District 39
Maryland’s 47 state senators comprise the upper house of the General Assembly, which meets for 90 days each year in Annapolis. Along with the lower house, the House of Delegates, the senators consider more than 2,000 bills in a session, and they review and approve the state budget submitted by the governor. They serve four-year terms.

"As a native of Montgomery County growing up in Gaithersburg, I have witnessed many changes since the post-Korean era, where I served my country as a member of the [Air Force]. As a community activist and grass-roots politician, I believe that I know something about the many challenges that face this most fast-growing and fast-paced District 39. Our schools, our transportation systems, our senior citizens, our environment are all concerns and issues that we need strong and aggressive leadership [on]. As a servant of the people, I am committed to this end."

"I would like the voters of the 39th District to know that I was raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland; educated in Montgomery County public schools. My heart is here."
