How do I register my child for school?

Take your child to the school he or she will attend. To find your local school, call the Boundaries Office at 703-246-2111. Beware: School boundaries in Fairfax County are in constant flux! Even if you think you know which school your child should attend, it's worth a call to check.

You must accompany your child and bring proof of residency in Fairfax County; a birth certificate and proof of citizenship; the child's Social Security number, proof of immunization; and, if your child is transferring from another school or school district, school records or transcripts.

In addition, a certificate of a recent physical exam is required for students who are U.S. citizens entering grades K-6 and for students who are foreign citizens entering grades K-12.
