Ballot Questions

Question A
Proposed Charter Amendment

To provide that vacancies on the County Council shall be filled by special election under certain circumstances as permitted by the State Constitution.

Question B
Proposed Charter Amendment

To repeal the limit on the real property tax rate of the County and to require that any increase in the tax rate greater than the rate in effect in the prior fiscal year be approved by an affirmative vote of two-thirds of the members of the full Council.

Question C
Proposed Charter Amendment

To add certain positions to the exempt service of the County, to convert certain positions in the merit system to the exempt service of the County, and to permit the conversion or addition of exempt positions within the Executive's Office by Executive Order or other positions by legislative act by two-thirds vote of the full Council.

Community College Facilities Bonds

An Act enabling the County to borrow money and issue bonds in an amount not exceeding $2,823,000 to finance the design, construction, reconstruction, extension, acquisition, improvement, enlargement, alteration, renovation, relocation, rehabilitation, or repair of Community College Facilities as defined therein.

Library Facilities Bonds

An Act enabling the County to borrow money and issue bonds in an amount not exceeding $2,305,000 to finance the design, construction, extension, acquisition, improvement, enlargement, alteration, renovation, relocation, rehabilitation, or repair of Library Facilities, as defined therein.

Question F
Public Works and Transportation Facilities Bonds

An Act enabling the County to borrow money and issue bonds in an amount not exceeding $12,128,000 to finance the design, construction, reconstruction, extension, acquisition, improvement, enlargement, alteration, renovation, relocation, rehabilitation or repair of Transportation Facilities (including Roads and Bridges and Mass Transit Facilities), as defined therein.

Question G
Environmental Facilities Bonds

An Act enabling the County to borrow money and issue bonds in an amount not exceeding $29,950,000 to finance the design, construction, reconstruction, extension, acquisition, improvement, enlargement, alteration, renovation, relocation, rehabilitation, or repair of Environmental Facilities, as defined therein.

Question H
County Buildings Bond

An Act enabling the County to borrow money and issue bonds in an amount not exceeding $4,000,000 to finance the design, construction, reconstruction, extension, acquisition, improvement, enlargement, alteration, renovation, relocation, rehabilitation, or repair of County Buildings, as defined therein.

Question I
Proposed Charter Amendment

To provide that any ordinance or resolution levying or charging certain taxes fees in excess of the amount levied or charged in the preceding fiscal year shall be referred to a referendum of the qualified voters of the County.
