Redirecting Hazardous Materials

Since April, CSX Transportation voluntarily has rerouted some shipments of hazardous-materials from a north-south rail line that passes within four blocks of the U.S. Capitol. This week, CSX officials acknowledged that some shipments have been redirected onto an east-west line that travels through neighborhoods in the northeast section of the city.
