Affordable housing: I introduced the law that caps real property tax increases, led the fight (with AARP) against predatory lenders and have consistently voted funds to help low-income residents. Schools: I visit them and then demand improvements. It's my amendment that will set aside and protect $500 million for local schools next year. Neighborhoods: As a former ANC commissioner, I know quality-of-life issues. I listen to residents, and we work together for strong neighborhoods across the city."
