What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction? "Restoring accountability and confidence in Alexandria public schools. The school board must: deliver academic programs that not only meet mandated testing requirements but enable students to graduate with the skills to succeed in the workforce or higher education; use flexible, creative practices to recruit and retain the best teachers and principals; deliver timely, fiscally prudent budgets that direct resources to the classroom, not administration; evaluate programs and curriculum to ensure achieving specific performance goals; re-establish true dialogue with citizens by providing information and conducting open debate; and provide competent, professional leadership about the future direction our schools should take."
Why should voters elect you? "My years of experience in education and local government leadership promotes successful achievement of my goal to ensure quality education for all public school children."
