What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction? "Falls Church faces the same urgent issue it has had to confront for years: How can a city just two square miles in size, with a population of 10,500, find the revenue needed to sustain its unique small-town character? Surrounded by Fairfax and Arlington — with Tysons Corner minutes away — Falls Church has long competed on an anything-but-level playing field. Thus, it relies on residential property taxes as the primary source of revenue, although vastly increased effort is being focused on economic development. While these efforts are progressing, the city's financial status remains a matter of continuing concern."

Why should voters elect you? "Thirty years of public service and an abiding commitment to good government (accountability, transparency and responsiveness) make me well qualified to be an effective council member."
