What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction? "One of our most pressing issues at this time is maintaining our great teaching staff. We need to work closely with the city to be more competitive with surrounding districts in order to recruit and retain the best for our students. There must be a stronger emphasis on attracting high-quality teachers and staff. We must keep classes small and enact policies to ensure greater support for teachers. The city also needs to work more diligently on ensuring that Alexandria is affordable for its diverse citizens, families and employees."

Why should voters elect you? "I have lived here for over 20 years — I am involved with, care about and want to make a difference in our diverse community."
