What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction? "The need to increase achievement in order to compete globally is an urgent problem facing not just students, but all Alexandrians. This generation's students are the next generation of doctors, scientists, teachers and lawyers. In order to ensure their successful futures, it is imperative ACPS recruit the most qualified teachers available. To retain those educators, they must be paid competitive wages and be treated as the professionals they are. Corporations seeking to hire the best and brightest should partner with schools and invest in their own futures, earning tax incentives for augmenting teacher salaries or funding other budgeted items."
Why should voters elect you? "As an educator and journalist, I have the knowledge and experience necessary to work with people of diverse backgrounds and roles to serve all students."
