Why should voters elect you?

"I bring the energy, dedication, vitality and hands-on leadership to engage the entire city. I will make this a city that works for everyone."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"Building excellent education will be my top priority as mayor. I will invest in the full continuum of education — from early childhood programs and the K-12 system, to after-school programs, continuing education, career, vocational, family and adult literacy programs and workforce training. I will ensure the success of the multibillion-dollar school facility modernization effort that I initiated at the council. I will work with parents, businesses, universities, community groups and nonprofits to make sure the school system has the resources it needs and uses them efficiently and effectively to transform the way we approach education."
