Why should voters elect you?

"As a parent, educator, civic activist, environmentalist and law reformer, I believe I have the expertise, experience and judgment needed at this critical time."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"We are headed into a time of transition and, above all, we need experience and leadership. Whether it is our schools that don't educate, emergency services that fail us, repairs left undone or sloppy contracting, the problem is poor management -- leaders who don't lead and supervisors who don't supervise. The council must exercise vigorous oversight of agencies, set high standards and ensure accountability. Most crucially, to be a great city and to build the strong families on which that depends, we must have an educational system that enables everyone to learn, to hope and to be productive."
