I will continue to work to effectively address the issues central to our lives — for expanded federal action to 1) protect our community against drug-related crime, violence and the terrorist threat — while protecting our fundamental civil rights and liberties; 2) provide universal access to high-quality health care; 3) assure a quality education, good jobs, affordable housing and dependable public transportation for all our people; 4) protect our environment; and 5) ensure that every citizen can vote and have that vote counted."
