Why should voters elect you?
"Eight years as county executive and 32 years in law enforcement give me the knowledge, experience and courage to do the right thing in Annapolis."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"The most urgent issue facing Howard County is transportation and public transit. We have an excellent school system and a strong public safety program —- our police and fire agencies are second to none in the state. However, we need to improve our roads and mass transit. As county executive, I have expanded our bus system and am working with Anne Arundel County and Fort Meade to establish a joint transit operation. As state senator, I would work to find money to help relieve traffic congestion and fund cost-effective transit options."
