Why should voters elect you?

"My proven record of advocating citizen interests in communications, good schools, healthy environment and affordable housing and my legislative experience make me an effective legislator."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"Current real estate trends are threatening the vital diversity of District 18. Conversions of rental units to high-priced condominiums and soaring house prices are eliminating opportunities for young families, skilled workers, public employees, the elderly and others who are essential to the functioning and culture of the district. Median home prices increased 68 percent since 2000, while household income only increased 9 percent. I sponsored legislation, which became law, giving counties and housing agencies new tools to increase affordable housing and broaden the base of those eligible for housing assistance. We need creative solutions to meet the challenge."
