Why should voters elect you?

"Energy. Action. Results! Over eight years, I've proven that my passion for public service — coupled with legislative know-how — yields great results for Maryland and for my constituents."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"While quality education and safe neighborhoods are two of my chief concerns (I've been endorsed by the state and local teachers associations and was named 2005 State Police Legislator of the Year), the most urgent problem is transportation. Route 1, I-295 and I-95 are backed up nearly every day. I have fought vigorously for an environmentally friendly, bike-friendly ICC, and now it's being built. I've pushed for extending the Metrorail Green Line to BWI and for studying a campus connector to the University of Maryland, and now both are in the budget. The Purple Line and bus routes are next!"
