Why should voters elect you?
"I have years of experience, leadership and commitment to constituents and hope to continue to contribute to produce positive outcomes for everyone."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"Education and crime are equally urgent problems facing my district. For 32 years, the county and state teachers associations, and the AFL-CIO, have endorsed me. The funds spent to educate our children will pay big dividends in the future, and I will continue to push to fully fund the Thornton Commission. Education problems include recruitment and retention of qualified teachers, teachers' benefits and school construction. The 27A legislative team hosted a town hall meeting with County Executive Jack Johnson and police officials to demand adequate police service. We were promised 20 new officers in police districts 4 and 5."
