Why should voters elect you?

"I'll root out waste, mismanagement and inefficiency, reduce taxes and slow growth while limiting the influence of developers through planning and development reform."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"Balancing the budget!! We've seen a $300 million falloff in transfer and recordation taxes due to the declining housing market; a new federal law requires $200 million to pre-fund some county employee benefits; the county employees' retirement system is $674.5 million in deficit; and we're facing a $67.5 million shortfall in facility maintenance. Tragically, a July council staff report states our six-year fiscal plan will only work if the charter limit on property tax collection is overridden in each of the next five budgets. The solution is to establish a Commission on Fiscal Waste and Duplication."
