Why should voters elect you?
"I successfully led efforts to reform fire and rescue services, increase public safety resources, provide traffic relief, protect our Agricultural Reserve and increase school funding."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"The most urgent issue facing the Upcounty and region is transportation. As chair of the National Capital Region's Transportation Planning Board, I am pleased to have approved the intercounty connector, advocated for dedicated Metro funding and fought to keep MARC stations open. I also supported an unprecedented $160 million increase by the County Council to jump-start local transportation projects. However, much more needs to be done to overcome years of neglect. I am working with community, state and federal leaders to fund the Corridor Cities Transitway, the Purple Line and widening of Interstate 270."
