Why should voters elect you?

"I have independence from vested interests, knowledge from a business and government background and focused energy to help Marylanders take control of their future."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"The most urgent issue facing the people of western Maryland is what type of future they and their children will have. Will it continue to be mortgaged to foreign oil producers at the rate of $1 billion per day? Will stable, good-paying jobs in manufacturing or farming ever return? Converting the U.S. energy economy to a 'home-grown' renewable future offers Marylanders the chance for economic renewal. Processing local low-value crops and agricultural residues into biofuels and biochemicals cannot be 'offshored.' My goal is to enact a 'Home-Grown Manhattan Project' that helps make this a reality within five years."
