Why should voters elect you?

"As Ways and Means Committee chairman, I can lead the way to provide increased funding: for schools, tax credits for literacy training and alternative energy."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?

"Public education is the most urgent issue in my jurisdiction. As an original supporter of Maryland's five-year Bridge to Excellence, which includes all-day kindergarten and class-size reduction, I am committed to funding this valuable K-12 program. I will also work to reduce higher education tuition costs and provide increased funding for literacy services for adults throughout our state. We must also provide affordable housing and assurances of public safety. In our county and throughout the state, we must develop our mass transportation system, utilize more efficient sources of energy and safeguard our open spaces."
