Three Virginia courts serve county residents.
The Circuit Court and General District Court are in the county's Judicial Center, 4110 Chain Bridge Rd.
The Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court is in the original, historic county courthouse, 4000 Chain Bridge Rd.

Offices for the county's commonwealth's attorney are also at the Judicial Center.
The Circuit Court has jurisdiction over a variety of civil and criminal cases. Civil cases include business disputes, divorces, and personal injury and domestic relations cases. The court also hears felony criminal cases and appeals of misdemeanor and traffic cases from the General District Court and Juvenile Court.
General District Court has jurisdiction over misdemeanors, violations of local ordinances, traffic infractions, preliminary hearings in felony charges, civil lawsuits in which the amount at issue is $15,000 or less, and mental commitment hearings.
Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court hears matters involving juveniles (those younger than 18) and family matters, including custody cases outside divorce. It also operates the Juvenile Detention Center.
