The committee comprises representatives from the Treasury, Defense, State, Justice, Homeland Security and Commerce departments, as well other agencies. The purchase, announced March 7, would be the biggest ever of a U.S. defense supplier by a foreign firm. The transaction is expected to close by midyear, Arlington-based United Defense said in a statement.
