U.S. Halts Najaf Fighting After Sadr Truce Deal

The U.S. led coalition will "honor and respect" an agreement between Moqtada Sadr and the Shiite hierarchy to end the armed standoff in Najaf between the radical cleric's militia and American troops. Speaking in Baghad on Thursday, Iraqi National Security Adviser Mowaffak Rubaie, read a written statement by Sadr to the media.
