David Hoffman is The Post's bureau chief in Moscow. He joined The Post in 1982 and covered presidents Reagan and Bush. In 1992 he became the State Department correspondent before going to Jerusalem to cover, among other things, the 1993 Israeli-Palestinian peace accords. He has lived in Moscow since 1995.

Hoffman talked with Washingtonpost.com's Chet Rhodes on Saturday, January 1, 2000.
